Taking on too much has been my story, since I was a little girl;
It started with the people I loved,
Then it continued with the (toxic) love relationships
I carried too much responsibility.
And it spilled into my work, my dreams, my everything.
My vibe was: I can hold it all!!
💪🏾 People saw me as strong,
What they didn't see, what I didn't even see
was the exhaustion and vulnerability hiding beneath my thick armour.
Since 2014, I've been peeling back the layers of my strong independent woman.
But I never seemed to reach the bottom of that control identity.
I kept finding myself over-doing,
over-achieving, holding too much,
feeling restless, stressed, anxious, or afraid.
I was leading in my relationships, and distrusting life itself.
I believed that if I let go, something would fall apart.
Or I would.
Until I gave birth to my daughter.
That sacred passage shattered whatever was left of my control identity.
It opened a metamorphosis that changed me
as a woman, a partner, a mother, and a leader.
Now I walk the path of surrendered living.
Not as a concept, but as a daily, embodied choice.
I feel deeply safe within myself,
and safe with Life,
There is a Silent, humming peace inside me,
even in the middle of great storms.
And I live life with a deep knowing:
ALL IS WELL. Always already.
